Municipal Immigrant Day

The Municipal Immigrant Day was instituted on September 17, 2008 and is a recognition of the Sintra City Council in view of the strong presence and valuable contribution of immigrant citizens in local life. The celebration is intended to be a fraternal meeting between the various migrant communities and local host communities. It is an open event for all, consisting of the presentation of films and documentaries, tours, exhibitions, theater, workshops on various cultural aspects of some of the communities in Sintra, musical performances, dances, gastronomic sharing of diverse origins. This organization involves 19 associations / institutions linked to the work with the migrant population. September has thus been designated as the Migration Month.
